Job summary

A local tourism company in Klawock is seeking a Boat Captain to ensure the safe operation of vessels for tourism activities. This role is responsible for adherence to U.S. Coast Guard regulations and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will hold a valid USCG Captain's License and have strong leadership skills. Previous experience in marine environments is preferred. This seasonal position includes a pay rate of $32.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid USCG Captain's License appropriate for vessel tonnage and route.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of maritime navigation and safety procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in coastal Alaska or similar marine environments preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and navigate vessels in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure passenger and crew safety at all times.
• Conduct safety briefings for guests and crew before departure.
• Monitor weather and marine conditions for trip feasibility.
• Maintain vessel logs and regulatory documentation.
• Supervise assigned crew members and ensure adherence to protocols.
