Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Security Alarm Systems Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot commercial alarm, access control, and CCTV systems across a large property portfolio. You will read blueprints, perform low-voltage wiring, and ensure NEC compliance.

The role requires hands-on expertise, independent diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and prompt incident response within a stable, growing real estate organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial security alarm system experience.
  • NAPCO Alarm Systems experience.
  • Experience servicing intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and electronic security systems.
  • Working knowledge of commercial security standards, National Electrical Code (NEC), and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex alarm panels, sensors, card readers, cameras, electronic locks, and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to satisfy background screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to alarm activations, investigate system issues, and coordinate resolution activities.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot access control devices including card readers, request-to-exit devices, and electronic locking hardware.
  • Support CCTV and video surveillance systems including cameras, recording equipment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Configure, test, and maintain integrated security solutions.
  • Support security system upgrades and new installations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Support new construction, renovation, and security improvement projects.
  • Conduct inspections and testing to ensure systems operate properly and comply with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain detailed service records, testing documentation, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.

Job description

A well-established commercial real estate organization is seeking an experienced Security Alarm Systems Technician to support and maintain electronic security infrastructure across a large commercial property portfolio. This position is responsible for the installation, programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspection of intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV systems, and related low-voltage security technologies.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with commercial alarm systems, low-voltage troubleshooting, and electronic security hardware. This role requires an individual who can independently diagnose system issues, perform preventative maintenance, support critical security operations, and respond to security-related incidents.

Key Responsibilities
Alarm & Security Systems
  • Install, service, program, and troubleshoot commercial security alarm systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on intrusion detection systems, alarm panels, sensors, automated gates, and electronic locking systems.
  • Test and maintain alarm communication pathways including IP and cellular communicators.
  • Respond to alarm activations, investigate system issues, and coordinate resolution activities.
Access Control & CCTV
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot access control devices including card readers, request-to-exit devices, and electronic locking hardware.
  • Support CCTV and video surveillance systems including cameras, recording equipment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Configure, test, and maintain integrated security solutions.
  • Support security system upgrades and new installations.
Low Voltage Systems
  • Install and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling, wiring, conduit, and security hardware.
  • Diagnose communication, wiring, hardware, and system integration issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Support new construction, renovation, and security improvement projects.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Conduct inspections and testing to ensure systems operate properly and comply with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain detailed service records, testing documentation, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist with security audits, emergency preparedness activities, and system evaluations.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial security alarm system experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with NAPCO Alarm Systems.
  • Experience servicing intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and electronic security systems.
  • Working knowledge of commercial security standards, National Electrical Code (NEC), and applicable regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and security hardware.
  • Ability to perform technical installation and troubleshooting activities requiring fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
