Under general direction, performs skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff.

Work Hours/Schedule
7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Friday
- Repairs a variety of equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Utilizes hand tools to dismantle equipment and repairs or replaces defective or worn parts, using hand tools.
- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and recommendations, occasionally lifting and carrying parts and equipment weighing 50 pounds.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment needing repair or servicing.
- Maintains records on preventive or corrective maintenance on equipment.
- May train and direct others in servicing equipment.
- Performs related work as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Three (3) years of mechanical repair experience.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
Applicant Information
- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
