Job summary

Terran Orbital is seeking an AIT Technician – GNC Module Assembly for Irvine, CA. This role focuses on assembling and testing Guidance, Navigation & Control spacecraft components while following AS-9100 quality standards.

The position reports to the Production Manager and supports integration activities. The ideal candidate has 2+ years hands-on electromechanical assembly experience, reads blueprints and schematics, and adheres to cleanroom and ESD practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years hands-on electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints and schematics.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • US citizenship with ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test GNC spacecraft components per procedures.
  • Operate hand tools and light power tools.
  • Update documentation and hardware statuses.
  • Assist with spacecraft integration activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, follow safety protocols.
  • Stand for long periods and perform lab duties as needed.

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced AIT Technician – GNC Module Assembly to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Production Manager the AIT Technician – GNC Module Assembly will responsible for assembling and testing Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) spacecraft components. The ideal candidate should possess a keen understanding of quality control and AS-9100 standards.

This role is on our Weekday shift (Monday - Thursday) from 6:00AM - 4:30PM.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow detailed procedures to assemble complex electronic and mechanical modules.
  • Operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and light power tools.
  • Ability to quickly change priority while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate statuses, issues, and suggestions effectively to the support engineering team.
  • Updating documentation and hardware statuses through online services.
  • Basic avionics and the electrical troubleshooting.
  • Assist in spacecraft integration related activities.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, be able to work with limited supervision, and meet the requirements of the attendance policy.
  • Must perform all functions of the job in a safe and professional manner.
  • Must keep work area(s) in a neat, clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Ability to stand for most of the working day.
  • Perform miscellaneous lab duties, including kitting, inventory, and organization tasks.
  • Perform other tasks/responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of professional experience working hands-on as a technician within electromechanical assembly or spacecraft/spacecraft hardware manufacturing
  • Ability to read, understand and follow detailed work instructions for assembly and testing flight product including blueprints and schematic drawings
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of soldering tools and practices (J-STD-001 certification preferred but not required)
  • Skillset of harnessing and soldering to IPC 620 specifications preferred
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Familiarity with cleanroom cleanliness standards and ESD precautions
  • Must have excellent visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and quality control tasks
  • Ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors, which is essential for success in this role
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job‑related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
