Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with needs throughout the store.
• Accurately select online orders, prioritizing quality produce and fresh items.
• Scan and bag items from all temperature zones with care.
• Maintain proper temperatures during fulfillment and storage.
• Place orders in storage at correct temps and retrieve before pickup.
• Prepare orders for customer pickup and place in holding area.
• Assist with loading groceries into customer vehicles as needed.
• Process payments via POS and handle credit card transactions.
• Substitute unavailable items upon customer request; communicate options.
• Monitor incoming orders to ensure on-time fulfillment and accuracy.
• Answer phones and emails with friendly, helpful service.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code and store guidelines.
• Assist with additional tasks or special projects as needed.

What You'll Do

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer warmly and assisting them with their needs throughout the store
• Accurately select groceries ordered online by customers, choosing the highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products
• Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones
• Ensure products maintain proper temperature throughout the entire fulfillment process
• Place gathered orders in storage at the proper temperature and retrieve them promptly prior to the customer's arrival
• Cart orders to and place them in the holding area for customer pickup
• Lift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicles
• Tender customer orders through POS and process credit card payments
• Substitute products for customers upon request or when items are unavailable
• Continually monitor incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment
• Answer phones and emails promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers
• Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
• Pitch in with other tasks or special projects as they come up

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas
• Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
• Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
• Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
• Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties

Working Environment

This is a fast-moving role with constant pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks throughout your shift. You'll work primarily in a retail store setting and may be exposed to dust, noise, temperature extremes, moving equipment hazards, and electrical equipment. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
