Zipline is expanding its autonomous delivery network and seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build airspace-management and coordination systems for a global drone network. You will shape architecture and product direction as we move from concept to deployed, safety-critical software.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering reliable software systems in complex environments.
• Strong skills in distributed systems, APIs, and data modelling.
• Proven ability to operate production services in a modern cloud environment (AWS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of airspace-management capabilities for the drone network.
• Build core services for shared-airspace coordination, deconfliction, and simulation.
• Translate requirements into clear system designs and product decisions.
• Design for correctness, resilience, observability, and auditability.
• Own projects from discovery through production, rollout, and operation.
• Define APIs and data models for coordination across systems and participants.
• Contribute to open-source projects and interoperability efforts.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
