Job summary

Advanced Professional Security is seeking a dedicated Airport Security Supervisor to join our Denver International Airport team on a full-time 2nd shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm). Residents of Colorado are required to begin employment, and sponsorship is not available for this role.

All applicants must meet work authorization requirements upon hire. The role focuses on protecting assets and spaces, managing access, patrolling grounds, responding to threats, coordinating with airport staff and law

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of supervisory or management experience in security.
• Able to obtain Denver Guard Card; able to pass a drug test including marijuana.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Must be physically fit to stand for extended periods and patrol.
• Strong communication and courteous interaction with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Protect and oversee critical areas and assets, ensuring safety and integrity.
• Maintain a commanding presence to deter criminal activity and maintain order.
• Conduct regular perimeter and grounds patrols and stay alert for suspicious behavior.
• Respond to hazardous situations and threats with effective, safe actions.
• Provide aid and protection to individuals in need, ensuring safety.
• Enforce security measures; address trespassers and detentions as needed.
• Control gate and door access for vehicles and personnel with strict entry protocols.
• Secure premises by locking doors and closing windows as required.
• Monitor surveillance cameras for suspicious activity and take action.
• Set and respond to alarms; coordinate with emergency services when required.
• Escort employees and visitors safely as needed.
• Coordinate emergency response and activate alarms; contact police, fire, medical when required.
• Document incidents with detailed reports of damages, theft, and irregular activities.

This position is available on a full‑time 2nd shift basis (2:00pm – 10:00pm). All guards are required to work at least one day each weekend.

Candidates must be residents of Colorado by their first day of employment.

Hiring Hourly Range: $27.00 per hour.

• Monitor Surveillance: Observe security cameras for signs of suspicious activity and take appropriate action.
• Manage Alarms: Set and respond to alarms as required, ensuring prompt action during emergencies.
• Escort Personnel: Provide safe escort services for employees and visitors as needed.
• Coordinate Emergency Response: Activate alarms and contact external emergency services (police, fire, medical) when required.
• Document Incidents: Prepare detailed reports on damages, theft, and irregular activities, maintaining thorough records.
• Compliance: Adhere to all applicable state and company regulations and policies.
• Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, luggage, and cargo using X‑ray machines, metal detectors, and other specialized equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service while always maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Collaborate with airport staff, law enforcement, and other security personnel to coordinate security efforts and ensure compliance with regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role within the security industry
• Must be able to read, write and understand English proficiently
• Must be able to pass a drug test, which includes marijuana
• Must be able to obtain a Denver Guard Card and have prior experience as a security guard
• Must be technologically proficient
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in high‑pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with diverse individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and protocols meticulously.
• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform routine patrols.
