Job summary

Transportation Security Administration in Charleston, ME is seeking a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer. You will lead Transportation Security Officers and Lead TSOs, coordinate staffing, and oversee passenger and baggage screening operations to ensure procedures are followed accurately and consistently.

The role requires judgment, clear communication, and the ability to lead during routine operations and security incidents. Full-time position with varied shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience supervising transportation-security operations.
• At least six months of experience as a work leader, team leader, or supervisor.
• Current TSA employee eligibility and ability to meet vacancy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Transportation Security Officers and Lead Transportation Security Officers.
• Oversee passenger, carry-on baggage, checked baggage, or cargo-screening operations.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and coordinate rotations and coverage.
• Make security-based decisions using TSA procedures and professional judgment.
• Review employee performance and provide coaching and feedback.
• Respond to security incidents, disruptions, and emergencies.
• Prepare operational briefings, logs, incident reports, and management communications.
• Coordinate with airport stakeholders and TSA leadership as required.
• Recommend improvements to screening procedures and staffing plans.
