Job summary

Port of Seattle Police Department seeks skilled lateral officers to join a community-focused agency serving Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and maritime properties. A $25,000 hiring incentive is offered, with half paid within 30 days and the remainder upon probation completion.

Candidates must meet WA state or out-of-state requirements, including 24 months of patrol or investigative experience, a valid driver’s license, and full authority certification for out-of-state applicants.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Valid Washington Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum 24 consecutive months as a full-time, paid commissioned officer.
• Out-of-state applicants must have completed a state-certified police academy and full authority certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-oriented law enforcement at Port-owned properties, including airport and maritime sites.
• Patrol designated areas to deter and discover crime.
• Enforce laws, issues citations, and provide traffic control.
• Respond to calls, detain/arrest suspects, and assist motorists and pedestrians.
• Investigate crimes, write reports, and testify in court.
• Collaborate with tenants, residents, businesses, and communities.
