Job summary

County of San Diego is seeking an Airport Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and technical tasks on airport facilities, grounds, and equipment at Gillespie Field in El Cajon, CA.

The role requires experience with electrical systems, heavy equipment operation, and airport infrastructure, plus the ability to meet DOT and county safety requirements. A valid California Class B license with tank endorsement is required; a Class A license must be acquired within six months.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of general construction experience with emphasis on electrical work, structural/facilities repair, and heavy equipment operation.
• One (1) year of experience maintaining electrical systems and airport infrastructure on a public or military airfield.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and technical work on airport facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform duties as a journey level technician in a busy airport environment.
