Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Baggage Handler in Honolulu to safely load and unload passenger baggage and cargo. You will sort, transport, and load baggage, while adhering to airport security procedures and safety standards in a busy, real-time environment.

You will work with ramp agents and airline staff, ensuring accurate tagging and routing to flights. The role requires physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to pass background/drug checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Able to read, write and follow instructions in English.
• Must pass pre-employment drug tests and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft safely and efficiently.
• Sort and transport luggage to designated airport areas.
• Operate baggage handling equipment and carts safely.
• Ensure baggage is scanned, tagged, and routed to the correct flights.
• Follow TSA and airport security procedures at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage areas and workspaces.
• Assist with aircraft arrival and departure operations as needed.
• Collaborate with ramp agents and airline personnel to meet deadlines.
• Respond quickly to changing flight schedules and operational needs.
• Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.

Role Purpose

The Baggage Handler is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient loading, unloading, sorting, and transportation of passenger baggage and cargo. This role supports airline operations by ensuring luggage is handled accurately while maintaining compliance with airport safety and security procedures.

What You Will Be Doing

• Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft safely and efficiently
• Sort and transport luggage to designated areas within the airport
• Operate baggage handling equipment, carts, belt loaders, and tugs safely
• Ensure baggage is properly scanned, tagged, and routed to the correct flights
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Follow airline, airport, and TSA security procedures at all times
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage areas and workspaces
• Assist with aircraft arrival and departure operations as needed
• Work collaboratively with ramp agents, supervisors, and airline personnel to meet operational deadlines
• Respond quickly to changing flight schedules and operational needs
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
• Perform other duties as requested

• Fast-paced airport environment with exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, noise, and operational deadlines
• Must be able to take verbally direct in English
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
• Must pass a pre-employment background check
• Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
• Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials
• Identification badges must always be visible
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives

Pay: $16.00 Hourly USD
