Job summary

Alliance Ground International (AGI) is seeking a Ramp Agent to support outdoor, fast-paced aviation operations. You will help load/unload baggage and cargo, operate ground equipment, and coordinate with crew to keep flights on schedule.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in paperwork, and effective radio communication with ground crew. Ideal candidates are 18+, with a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Authorized to work in the United States (US) per IRCA/IRPA rules
  • Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport ID and access

Responsibilities

  • Assist with loading/unloading baggage, cargo, and mail in aircraft bins
  • Operate ground support equipment (belt loaders, tow tugs, lift trucks) and coordinate with Wing Walkers
  • Record and track baggage/cargo and complete related paperwork
  • Provide safe, efficient ground support to ensure flights run on time
  • Stock aircraft with supplies and maintain cleanliness of cabins

As a Ramp Agent, you will be essential in ensuring that flights run on time by providing efficient ground support services.

Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loader, or baggage carts in a safe manner.

Safeguards customer baggage, air cargo, airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage and/or destruction.

Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.

Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure the equipment is free of any danger.

Operate and/or drive motorized equipment, such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, bag cart, lavatory cart, and deicers; Operate equipment to move luggage and cargo, tow planes between gates, and refill water tanks and lavatories.

Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required.

Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, which could include wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other vital property of passengers, and prepare records in connection with these responsibilities.

Complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments pertaining to procedures and enter data into company's information system as required.

Complete all training when required by company, airport governing authority, or customer when required.

Be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Safety, Security And Compliance

Cooperate with their manager / supervisor to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.

Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, and security.

Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.

Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.

Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.

This job requires physical stamina and strength – Ramp Agents must be able to lift / carry / push / pull and move items 70 pounds (32 kg) or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift items weighing 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.

Must be able to be alerted to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities.

Good Communication Skills – Ramp Agents must be able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively in a professional manner with the flight crew, gate agents, and other ground crew to coordinate the movement and handling of planes, equipment, baggage, and cargo.

Ramp agents may be required to calculate weight and balance calculations for planes.

Computer skills: Ramp agents may be required to use computer systems to track cargo and baggage.

Ramp agents may be called upon to troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading.

Ramp agents must be able to manage their time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment .

Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent.

Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.

Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.

If required by customer or role access, be able to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency.

Working weekends and holidays are required for this job.
