Job summary

Eagle County Government seeks a dedicated ARFF firefighter to join our airport operations. You will respond to emergencies, provide fire and rescue services, perform snow removal, inspections, as well as maintenance of airport facilities.

The role includes rotating shifts, with some holidays and weekends, and supporting safe airfield operations. Applicants must hold Firefighter I certification, Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations, and First Responder 1st aid certification or the ability to

Qualifications

• Certification as Firefighter I (IFSAC/ProBoard/State of Colorado).
• Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations certification.
• 40-hour First Responder 1st aid course or ability to obtain within 45 days.
• FAA ARFF and related training within required timelines.
• Completion of NIMS trainings (ICS-100, 200, 700, 800) within six months.
• Colorado Firefighter II and Airport Firefighter certifications within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Responds as part of a team to airport emergencies to provide fire and rescue services.
• Operates equipment and performs snow removal, inspections, and maintenance of airport facilities.
• Maintains safe airfield conditions and supports a variety of administrative, professional, and technical tasks for the airport.
