Job summary

RS&H Inc. in Vienna, VA is seeking an Airfield Civil Engineer I to join our Aviation Practice. You will contribute to design and delivery of airport projects, including runways, taxiways and aprons, and work with a team of engineers to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include geometric design, pavement and stormwater infrastructure, and coordination with airports, FAA and tenants, with opportunities for professional growth as you progress toward PE licensure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters of Engineering in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience, with airport design experience.
  • Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain PE License within 6 months.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office for project tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Geometric design of runways, taxiways, and aprons.
  • Bituminous and concrete pavement design; stormwater and utility infrastructure design.
  • Coordination with airports, airlines, FAA and other tenants; construction administration/management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent disciplines from an accredited ABET university
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience, with at least two years of airport design experience
  • Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain PE License within 6 months
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required for use in completing assignments
