Job summary

AAA, United States, Inc. has partnered with a Little Rock, Arkansas employer to recruit experienced Upholstery Fabricators for aircraft interiors. The role involves fabricating and upholstering aircraft seats and related soft goods, using various fabrics and exotic materials.

You will develop patterns from prints and instructions, and ensure high-quality work within budget while following safety protocols and protective equipment requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of aircraft upholstery experience.
  • Ability to setup and operate upholstery equipment.
  • Ability to read 3D models, blueprints, drawings and standards.
  • Must not be allergic to chemicals or fabrics.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and align designs.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in confined spaces.
  • Must wear protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sewing or upholstery operations of high quality and within budget.
  • Disassemble and reassemble various models of vendor passenger seats.
  • Perform glue, adhesive bonding, hardware, and rivet installation.
  • Style foams to meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Layout, cut, and sew routine and non-routine sewing operations on exotic fabrics.
  • Develop patterns from prints or verbal instructions.
  • Inspect and select fabrics, leathers, foams, and other materials.
  • Fabricate and upholster aircraft seats, divans, panels, headliners, etc.
  • Set up and operate equipment such as routers, sanders, and sewing machines.

Position Summary:

AAA, United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Little Rock, Arkansas that shapes the future by designing and building military aircraft, business jets and space systems. We are looking for experienced upholstery fabricators who are seeking their next opportunity in a complex and ever-changing work environment!

The Upholstery Fabricator will fabricate, develop, build, sew, and cover aircraft all soft goods through the knowledge and skills of interior finishing.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform sewing or upholstery operations of high quality and within budget.
  • Disassemble and reassemble various models of vendor passenger seats.
  • Perform maintenance such as proper glue application, adhesive bonding, hardware, and rivet installation.
  • Style a variety of foams to meet specifications/customer requirements.
  • Layout, match, cut, and sew various routine and non-routine sewing operations, including exotic fabrics such as plaids, stripes, diamond patterns and floral designs to produce symmetry in appearance.
  • Develop patterns from prints, sketches, models, and verbal instructions.
  • Inspect, select, and work with fabrics, leathers, foams, and other materials used in the performance of job assignments.
  • Fabricate and upholster all soft goods including but not limited to aircraft seats (fabrication and cover), divans, service ledges, side walls, headliners, and window panels.
  • Set up and operate all equipment, such as routers, sanders, sewing machines, etc.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of aircraft upholstery experience.
  • Able to setup and operate all standard equipment related to upholstery.
  • Able to work from documentation such as 3D models, blueprints, drawings, F-standards, preparation packages, etc.
  • Must not be allergic to chemicals, solvents, paints, adhesives, natural or manmade materials, fabrics, or feathers.
  • Able to distinguish colors and align intricate or elaborate designs in fabrics.
  • Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high-cost products with a minimum of rework.
  • Able to wear protective equipment for extended periods of time including, particle masks, goggles, assorted gloves, head bonnets, and disposable protective suits.
  • Able to stock and remove materials from bins above storage level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to climb in and out of aircraft and perform work in tight or confined places and unusual positions.
