Job summary

Sun Country Airlines in Minneapolis, MN is hiring an Aircraft Support Technician to position aircraft, operate ground support equipment, and support maintenance tasks. You will handle tooling distribution, communication in the ACC tower, and ensure safe operations in the hangar and ramp areas.

The role requires a high school diploma, self-motivation, strong communication, and the ability to obtain an MSP SIDA badge and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Move aircraft safely and in a timely manner.

• Perform tasks safely respecting all regulations and internal policies.

This position is represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association. The compensation schedule is based on the collective bargaining agreement.

The primary responsibilities of the Aircraft Support Technician will be to assist the Maintenance Operation by positioning aircraft to/from the gates/hangar/parking ramps. Movement of ground support equipment and checking for arriving and departing aircraft at the MSP hangar facility. The technician will also be responsible for the operation and fueling of powered ground support equipment as well as working in the tooling distribution and ACC tower for communication of aircraft moves.

• Responsible for the safe and timely movement of aircraft
• Work the ACC tower; operating the radio to communicate movement of aircraft
• May work the tooling distribution program; manage the receiving and distribution of tools, sending tools for calibration, and creating tool kits

• Other duties as assigned by AST POC, MSP Maintenance Crew Chiefs, and Management

Compensation:

$23.92 USD per hour. This is the base compensation hiring range for this role.

This job operates in the maintenance hangar, ramp area and ACC tower operations. This role is routinely exposed to all weather elements.

Physical Demands:

Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds regularly. This position will also be required to lift to 100 pounds on occasion. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
