Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Structures Technician in Cedar Hill, TX to perform sheet metal operations on airframe components. You will read blueprints, rivet, drill, cut, and finish parts while following procedures and safety guidelines.

Basic computer skills and strong English communication are required. The role requires knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines; multiple departments and FAA compliance form the core

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; A&P license welcomed but not required.
• Journeyman: 0–5 years of sheet metal technician experience.
• Master: 5+ years of sheet metal technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to advanced sheet metal operations on airframe components.
• Inspect, drill, rivet, cut and finish using appropriate tools and materials.
• Apply and remove sealants, conduct cleaning, and maintain tooling.
• Operate shop equipment (brakes, presses, riveters, shears) safely.
• Navigate manuals and maintenance data; communicate in English clearly.

What you can expect as a Structures Technician at DAS Aviation

As Sheetmetal Technician, each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth. You will need to have a basic to advanced knowledge of aircraft structures, reading blueprints, working from drawings, fastening systems, procedures and techniques.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including

• Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe components.
• Application and removal of sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
• Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
• Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions
• Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Your Education

What you’ll need to bring with you

A High school diploma or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant License is not required, but welcome. A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience

Knowledge of sheet metal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling)

Journeyman: 0-5 years of experience as sheet metal technician.

Master: 5+ years' experience as a sheet metal technician.

Your Initiative

Supervision

Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in controlled environments in industrial warehouses.

Multiple Departments to include : Teardown/Evaluation, Nacelle and heavy structural repairs, light structures repair on components.

Equipment Used

• Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
• Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
