Job summary

M1 Support Services in Columbus, MS is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect aircraft and equipment, perform certifications, and coordinate with the Lead Inspector to ensure quality across maintenance activities.

The role requires four years of aircraft maintenance experience, CAMS proficiency, and deep knowledge of AF orders and QA processes. Candidate must be able to work varying shifts and may require relocation or travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of four years recent aircraft maintenance experience as an aircraft mechanic or above in the area aircraft, specific backshop, or scheduled/unscheduled maintenance for the position designated.
  • Must be proficient in the use of CAMS and other computer programs.
  • Appropriate formal technical schools are required for the specified position.
  • Recent QA experience is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the AF technical order system and work center management functions is required.
  • Must encourage, promote, and instill a cooperative team relationship by using tact and a professional approach during inspections and observations of the maintenance effort.
  • Must portray a positive attitude towards mission accomplishment and company goals.
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • If required, must be able to qualify for a security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line drivers license and may be required to obtain and maintain a class CDL.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts inspections of aircraft and equipment.
  • Conducts personnel evaluations and task certifications.
  • Conducts work center management evaluation.
  • Briefs/debriefs FCF mission pilots. Provides a high degree of expertise in all quality assurance programs.
  • Coordinates activities with the Lead Inspector.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections to determine the condition of assigned equipment and proficiency of maintenance personnel as outlined in the Quality Assurance MSEP plan.
  • Participates in the other Quality Assurance Programs in accordance with the Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance to maintenance personnel and the work force.
  • Through objective sampling, observations, and analysis of findings, determines the overall condition of the maintenance effort.
  • Utilizes CAMS and other windows based programs to accomplish assigned duties.
  • Identifies potential problem areas and suggests solutions.
  • Investigates problem areas identified by the Analysis Section as directed by Management.
  • May perform classroom training on forms documentation, training program products, and other training related to the maintenance effort as required.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections.
  • Qualification on advanced tasks such as flight control, landing gear and canopy rigging may be required.
  • May be required to be qualified on different MDS aircraft.
  • Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed.
  • Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct.
  • Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies.
  • Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel.
  • Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required.
