Job summary

West Star Aviation is hiring an Aircraft Paint & Touch Up Technician in Chattanooga, TN. This full-time, on-site role focuses on detailing interiors and exteriors, paint mixing, and color matching to deliver high-quality finishes for our aircraft.

You will work under supervision of your Team Leader, perform prep and paint tasks, maintain safety rules, and ensure timely completion while communicating clearly in English. A high school diploma and valid travel documents are preferred.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
• Reliable transportation to get to work each day.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hangar environment under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform, wash, wax and detail work of aircraft interiors and exteriors.
• Polish, buff or treat aircraft sections as required.
• Paint mixing and paint matching.
• Monitor and inspect aircraft detailing.
• Inspect completed paint jobs.
• Follow all safety rules and communicate effectively in English.

This position requires knowledge aircraft paint detailing and bright work. If you have a creative edge and a desire for working with your hands, then this is the position for you.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including

• Perform, wash, wax and detail work of aircraft interiors and exteriors.
• Polish, buff or treat aircraft sections as required.
• Shop floor clean-up and assistance in other minor cleaning duties.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
• Monitor and inspect aircraft detailing.
• Inspect completed paint jobs.
• Paint mixing and paint matching.
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Your Education

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
• Work standing on ladder or scaffold.
• Pass pulmonary physical.
• Pass respiratory fit test, as you must wear protective gear.

• Stripper pump, electrostatic paint guns, pressure posts, and laser level.
• Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.
