AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32)

District of Columbia Air National Guard Joint Base Andrews, MD AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-6652-10 Group 3- Current or former uniformed service members (Active, Reserve, Guard) nationwide who are eligible for military membership in the (DCANG) **THIS IS NOT A CIVILIAN POSITION. MILITARY MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED**

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Air National Guard. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One (1) year of appointment. This position is located in the Egress Systems Shop of the Aerospace Systems Section, Field Maintenance Branch, Aircraft Maintenance Division.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft egress systems, such as aircraft ejection seats, extraction and escape systems, egress components of jettison canopies, explosive components of escape hatches and doors, and egress trainers.

Duties: Troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs, modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests such components as regulators, flow indicators, actuator motors, thruster and positioning mechanisms, seat actuators, catapult guide rails, ejection seats, rocket packs, and canopies, Inspects pressurization system air pressure gauges for sufficient pressure and bottles and regulators for general condition and serviceability Performs installation, modification, and repair of aircraft egress systems.

Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IC and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Note: This is not a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities for this PD Number D0115000 as released in FASCLASS.
