Aircraft Mechanic III (Maintenance Control) (Finance)

Job Location: Iwakuni, Japan

Overview: The Aircraft Mechanic III leads a team responsible for aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled repairs. This role involves supervising subordinate mechanics, providing technical guidance, and performing complex repairs and modifications on aircraft structures, engines, and systems. The technician applies extensive technical knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain aircraft components, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Additionally, the role includes managing maintenance priorities, certifying aircraft safe for flight, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and supervise aircraft maintenance operations, inspections, and repairs.
  2. Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  3. Perform and oversee repairs and modifications on aircraft structures, engines, and systems.
  4. Manage maintenance priorities and certify aircraft safe for flight.
  5. Ensure compliance with technical directives, manuals, and safety standards.
  6. Maintain accurate aircraft logs and records.
  7. Support troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of aircraft malfunctions.
  8. Coordinate with engineers and customers on technical issues.
  9. Manage maintenance documentation and work orders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum five years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Experience with KC-130J aircraft and organizational level maintenance.
  • Knowledge of technical directives, maintenance manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot aircraft systems and perform repairs.
  • Leadership skills and ability to supervise a team.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (e.g., NALCOMIS/OOMA).
  • Certification in vibration analysis, tire and wheel maintenance, hydraulic contamination, and APU operations preferred.
  • Eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC) and able to deploy OCONUS.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to provide proof of identity and work eligibility.
  • Satisfactory background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
