M1 Support Services, LP, is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II – Power Plants in San Diego. You will maintain and repair aircraft systems including engines, hydraulics, and avionics, ensuring aircraft readiness and safety, while supervising junior mechanics as needed.

Qualifications include 3+ years in H-60 series maintenance, ability to obtain Tier 3 background clearance, and reading/writing English. Comprehensive benefits are offered and shifts may vary to align with flight schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Aircraft System Repairs & Rebuilds – perform maintenance on aircraft structure, engines, gearboxes, rotor systems, and avionics.
  • Inspections & Troubleshooting – conduct inspections and evaluate engine components and hydraulic systems; replace damaged parts as needed.
  • System Adjustments & Repairs – repair wiring systems and accessories to keep systems in safe condition.
  • Flight Support – perform pre-, thru-, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
  • Aircraft Handling – assist in jacking, towing, and moving aircraft; record maintenance activities.

Job Summary

As an Aircraft Mechanic II (Power Plants) you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various aircraft systems including engines, avionics, hydraulics, armament, landing gear, and more. You will ensure aircraft readiness, perform inspections and repairs, and manage other mechanics to complete tasks on time.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Aircraft System Repairs & Rebuilds – Perform maintenance on aircraft structure, engines, gearboxes, rotor systems, and avionics using tools such as welding, sheet metal brakes, rivet guns, and drills.
  • Inspections & Troubleshooting – Conduct inspections (175‑hour, isochronal, phase inspections), evaluate engine components and hydraulic systems, use testing equipment to assess engine function, and replace damaged parts as needed.
  • System Adjustments & Repairs – Adjust, repair, and replace electrical wiring systems and accessories to keep all aircraft systems in safe operating condition.
  • Flight Support – Perform pre‑flight, thru‑flight, and post‑flight maintenance inspections to keep the aircraft properly serviced and safe for operation.
  • Aircraft Handling – Participate in jacking, towing, and moving aircraft; record maintenance activities ensuring safety of flight items.
  • Leadership & Supervision – Assign tasks, monitor work completion, enforce safety procedures; supervise junior mechanics when required.
  • Specialization – Opportunity to specialize in engine repair, airframe maintenance, electrical systems or armament.
  • Safety & Quality Compliance – Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and meet quality standards, including FOD prevention and hazmat handling.
  • Record Keeping – Maintain detailed maintenance records in OOMA or similar systems in compliance with regulations.
  • Additional Duties – Shop housekeeping, obtain and maintain certifications such as CDQAR, participate in safety programs, and coordinate maintenance programs.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of H‑60 series aircraft maintenance (or equivalent rotary aircraft experience); at least three years as a CDI/CDQAR; MH60‑R experience preferred.
  • Qualifications: Ability to obtain and maintain required U.S. Navy maintenance qualifications.
  • Security: Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Background Check (possible Secret clearance).
  • Physical Requirements: Must meet physical standards and pass a medical exam.
  • Language: Must read, write and understand English.
Working Conditions

The position requires lifting up to 50 lb. Workers must use computers for documentation and possess strong English verbal and written communication. Tasks include visual inspection, use of ladders, standing for long periods, working in extreme weather, and use of protective equipment. All shifts may be required; work hours are flexible to accommodate flight schedules. Safety hazards such as head, hand, hearing, eye, slip and trip hazards must be mitigated.
