Job summary

M1 Support Services seeks an Aircraft Mechanic I to support HH-60 APG operations in Nevada. This full-time role requires performing daily maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and servicing of aircraft and related systems in a military environment.

You will read and interpret manuals, complete documentation, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards. A valid US driver’s license and ability to obtain security clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum four years' experience in H-60 aircraft maintenance in military environment.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Able to work day, night, or weekend shifts; travel as needed.
  • Must obtain/maintain security clearance and valid U.S. Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily H-60 APG duties in accordance with AF Instructions and manuals.
  • Perform daily aircraft launch/recovery operations and inspections.
  • Assist with troubleshooting; maintain, service, inspect aircraft and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret manuals and other specs to determine repair methods.
  • Enter maintenance actions into MIS; complete forms and logs as required.
  • May be required to obtain certifications and travel for training.
  • Work in a cross-utilization environment across multiple systems.

Job Summary:
  • Conducts daily H-60 APG duties in accordance with Air Force Instructions, Publications, Manuals, Service Bulletins, Technical Orders, Engineering Disposition(s) and the PWS.
  • Conducts daily aircraft launch and recovery operations, End-of-Runway inspections and aircraft inspections.
  • Assists with troubleshooting. Maintains, services, and inspects aircraft, structures, systems, components and related support equipment. Removes, installs and conducts functional tests of repaired aircraft systems and components.
  • May assist in adjusting, aligning and rigging aircraft systems, as required. Inspects and identifies aircraft for corrosion prevention and repair.
  • May be required to read and interpret manufacturers and aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Performs periodic, hourly or calendar inspections, as required.
  • May be required to review and complete forms documentation pertinent to aircraft or equipment maintenance.
  • May be required to enter maintenance actions into applicable MIS system and will make entries in forms, logs, records or electronic equipment, as required.
  • Receives technical guidance from Managers, Supervisors, Leads or higher-level technicians, as required. May be required to aid writing/initiating engineering technical assistance requests.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain special certifications as directed by management.
  • May perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft and equipment maintenance, both on and off equipment, on assigned aircraft and equipment in accordance with the work statement, Company Policy, AFI 21-101 and industry standards.
  • May perform aircraft and equipment maintenance on other assigned MDS aircraft in a highly "cross- utilization/trained" environment. May be required to perform at a high level of competency in one or more of the following areas: repair and reclamation, egress, electro/environmental, avionics, wheel & tire, structures, composite repair, propulsion, fuels, non-powered AGE, armament, munitions, non-destructive inspection (NDI), and pneudraulics.
  • May perform transient aircraft support, CDDAR team member or chief duties, Phase inspection dock team member or chief duties, Engine run certifier duties, QA augmentation, Hydrazine response and Wheel & Tire functions.
  • Must complete all assignments and tasks as directed by Managers, Supervisors, Expediters, Leads and more senior technicians.
  • May be required to be trained on bomb lift use to load aircraft with various system pods, pylons or munitions.
  • May be required to perform weed removal and general clean-up of facilities assigned to the organization in accordance with the PWS. Requirements may include sweeping, mopping, use of floor cleaning machine etc.
  • May be required to travel to receive training to assist other personnel and work centers as directed.
  • May perform vehicle use inspections, cleaning and wash duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of four years' experience performing H-60 aircraft maintenance functions in a military environment and attainment of an Air Force 5 level (or equivalent) is required. Sister Service rotary experience will be considered.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to work day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required.
  • Must deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional and effective manner.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
  • Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and efficiency reporting procedures is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain the security clearance level as mandated by the government customer.
  • Must possess a current valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • May be required to obtain, maintain a government driver's license. If controlled movement area (CMA) access is required, individuals must pass a color vision test.
  • Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers (input/extract data) and basic computer software programs such as Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel.
  • May be required to obtain/maintain aircraft and/or equipment Red X/IPI/ER certification, as required.
  • Position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
Working Conditions:
  • Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive sitting, climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties. Minimum physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able and willing to meet OSHA, DCMA or additional industrial requirements including, hearing test, vision test to include color vision, respirator fit test and blood draw etc. to ensure workplace safety standard compliance.
  • May be subjected to no-notice drug testing surveillance per Company policy or Customer's direction to ensure a drug-free work environment.
