Job summary

V2X in Patuxent River, MD seeks an Aircraft Mechanic to maintain and repair aircraft components. You will troubleshoot and repair flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems with hands-on use of tools, gauges and testing equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair is required.
  • Two to Four years actual and recent experience in repair, modification, maintenance and overhaul of the E-2C/D aircraft. Four years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; disassembles and inspects parts for wear or defects and repairs or replaces defective engine parts.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories; performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
  • Supervises jacking and towing of aircraft; may service engines and airframe components to keep aircraft safe.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints or manuals to solve complex problems.
