THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1366000/D1525000 and is part of the CO 140 AMXS, National Guard. This position is located within a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization.

Key Responsibilities

WG-10: The primary purpose is to inspect, repair, modify, and service aircraft systems, components, and assemblies, both on- and off-aircraft. Performs inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, preflight, postflight, calendar, thru-flight, and special inspections such as fuel contamination, emergency equipment, and oil sampling.

Troubleshoots and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft, utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices and other related test equipment. May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification, and corrosion prevention.

Provides data for aircraft maintenance historical records, complete maintenance data collection, man-hour accounting, and other forms as required. Instructs, directs, and assigns maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members. Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as MEI, ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility and command support exercises.

Performs other duties as assigned. WG-12: The purpose is to act as the crew chief with responsibility for directing the total maintenance effort on individually assigned aircraft. Directs, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft. Ensures aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the Aircraft.

Performs in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications. Plans, develops and conducts training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions.

Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW). Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental and housekeeping regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
