Job summary

West Star Aviation seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical tasks on civilian aircraft, including panel removal/installations and troubleshooting. You will work in a hangar environment, with duties spanning inspection, lubrication, and equipment maintenance, reporting to the Lead Mechanic, and adhering to FAA guidelines.

The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent and an Airframe & Powerplant License, plus willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and

Qualifications

• A High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues.
• De-fueling aircraft.
• Engine removal/installations.
• Operating ground support equipment.
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
• Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
• Immediately notify the Lead Mechanic of any problem areas such as parts, materials, workmanship, or airworthiness issues.
• Provides the Lead Mechanic with a detailed report of work progression and open items to be included in the shift turnover log.
• Proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts, and panels appropriately stored including racks by aircraft.
• Basic computer navigation of electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases.
• Willing and able to work rotating shifts including, nights, holidays, weekends and days off.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
