Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Execute kit installation and structural upgrades on F/A-18 platforms.
  • Perform drilling, fabrication, and assembly of metal components.
  • Install rivets and fasteners to maintain structural integrity.
  • Identify and address corrosion, perform removal, treatment and prevention.
  • Conduct inspections affecting safety of flight (QAR/CDQAR).
  • Provide cross-functional support to team members in various areas.
  • Maintain airframe components and rig flight control surfaces per OEM standards.
  • Adhere to Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and directives.
  • Obtain/maintain qualifications for AGSE and tools.
  • Be willing to deploy internationally and work a high-tenure schedule.

Job description

This position supports the PMA-265 Super Hornet and Growler modificationprogram. The role centers on systematic kit installation and structural maintenance. Because lives depend on the integrity of every task, this mission requires absolute technical discipline, a \"zero-defect\" mentality, and the flexibility to deploy to international and off-site locations.

  • Kit Installation: Execute technical modification kits on F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and EA-18G platforms with zero-defect precision.
  • Structural Integration: Perform drilling, fabrication, and assembly of metal components to facilitate critical upgrades.
  • Fastener Operations: Install rivets and various metal fasteners required to maintain structural integrity.
  • Corrosion Mitigation: Perform expert-level corrosion identification, removal, treatment, and prevention.
  • Technical Inspections: Conduct QAR/CDQAR inspections of maintenance procedures affecting safety of flight.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide “cross-pollination” by assisting other team members in various functional areas.
  • General Airframe Maintenance & Rigging: Repair and replace aircraft fuselage components, wings, surfaces, and airfoils to OEM standards, including the removal, installation, and rigging of flight control surfaces.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Strictly adhere to the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and all associated technical directives.
  • Technical Qualifications: Ability to obtain/maintain certifications for corrosion control, hydraulic contamination, and other necessary technical qualifications.
  • Support Equipment: Ability to obtain/maintain qualifications for any Aviation Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) and specialized tooling.
  • Security Clearance: An active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Global Deployment & Travel: Must be willing and able to travel domestically and overseas with a valid passport.
  • High-Tempo Schedule: Willingness to work 10-hour days during peak installation periods.
  • Primary Hubs: Personnel are primarily based at NAS Lemoore, NAS Oceana, NAS Whidbey Island, or MCAS Iwakuni.
  • Off-Site Rotations: Teams deploy to NAS Fallon, NAS Patuxent River, or NAS China Lake, etc. for specific installation cycles.
