Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Waco, TX is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance C – P8-A Program to ensure operational safety and efficiency of aircraft. The role involves hands-on inspection, maintenance, and repair to meet safety regulations and performance standards.

Essential duties include disassembly, troubleshooting, adhering to manuals and FAA regulations, and documenting activities. A DoD clearance may be required; candidates should bring necessary tools and be able to work nights or weekends when

Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Minimum 6 months experience in aircraft maintenance on P-8, preferably with a focus on complex mechanical and avionics systems.
Ability to pass a flightline physical.
Must have required tools prior to starting work; tool list will be provided. Tools must be shadowed and engraved.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft components in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
Conduct thorough inspections to identify wear, tear, or damage, and carry out necessary repairs.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues.
Adhere to maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.
Document all maintenance activities accurately in maintenance logs and records.
Collaborate with engineering teams and provide feedback on aircraft performance and any issues encountered.
Ensure that all tools, materials, and equipment are calibrated correctly and maintained in good working condition.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance maintenance processes and practices.
Performs flightline operations, aircraft inspections, or repairs, sometimes in confined spaces and inclement weather.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering documentation.
Ability to obtain certification to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment, and towing vehicles.
Proficiency with aircraft maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
Ability to climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance required.
