Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, is seeking an aircraft maintenance technician. You will perform and assist with maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft systems to ensure safe operation and FAA compliance.

A&P or equivalent experience, plus a high school diploma or GED, is required. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues, coordinating inspections, and ensuring proper documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft components.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and avionics systems.
• Coordinate with inspection to ensure FAA compliance and documentation.
• Complete work orders, sign-offs and shift turnovers accurately.
• Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations and company procedures.
• Assist with lubricants, tools and equipment handling as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) or FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. Valid Drivers License required.

Position Purpose:

Under close supervision, perform or assist with various functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. Perform basic aircraft maintenance and perform troubleshooting and repair duties.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Perform assigned maintenance and servicing of aircraft mechanical systems .
• Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems .
• Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements .
• Properly complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner .
• Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications .
• Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely .
• Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment .
• Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
• Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed .

Additional Functions:

• Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean .
• Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment .
• Coordinate movement of aircraft, as required. .
• Maintain working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures .

Perform other duties as assigned.
