Job summary

Air Force Civilian Service at Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph, Universal City, TX, seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Production Controller (GS-1152-09) to develop and publish aircraft maintenance plans and schedules in support of operational flight scheduling.

The role requires completing Air Force maintenance scheduling training, experience in high tempo environments, and the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance. Locality pay applies to the San Antonio area.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • Successful completion of US Air Force Maintenance Scheduling School, three years of aircraft scheduling in a high tempo-flying environment, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related career field.
  • This position requires drug testing.
  • Shift is M-F, traditional dayshift hours.
  • Integrated Maintenance Data Systems (IMDS) experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develops maintenance plans for assigned aircraft and associated equipment.
  • Implements maintenance plans through the development and publication of maintenance schedules.
  • Translates requirements for aircraft components into time-placed events to facilitate maintenance actions.
  • Develops preliminary operational schedules (utilization plans) and provides an estimate of maintenance support capability.
  • Translates yearly operation requirements into quarterly, monthly, and weekly utilization plans.
  • Maintains Data Documentation including Aircraft Maintenance Historical Documentation, Jacket Files and Reviews.
  • Coordinates the Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) program.

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Production Controller (GS-1152-09) to join the team at the 12th Maintenance Group, Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph, Universal City, TX! In this position, you would develop and implement aircraft maintenance work plans and schedules to ensure the effective and efficient accomplishment of required maintenance and coordination in support of unit operational flight scheduling.

Salary Range for a GS-9 in San Antonio (with locality pay): $62,629 - $81,423

  • May be required to rarely work overtime, rotating shifts, uncommon tours of duty, weekends, etc. The assigned shift for this vacancy is M-F, traditional dayshift hours.
  • Integrated Maintenance Data Systems (IMDS) experience is highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops maintenance plans for assigned aircraft and associated equipment. Interprets design and/or production engineering data, standards of work processes, and master repair plans.
  • Implements maintenance plans through the development and publication of maintenance schedules to include scheduled and unscheduled repair actions, time-sensitive inspections or modifications, component time change replacement and aircraft or system inspections.
  • Translates requirements for aircraft or aircraft system components requiring time change replacement, modification, or inspection into a specific series of time-placed events to facilitate the timely accomplishment of maintenance actions.
  • Develops preliminary operational schedules (utilization plans) and provides the Operations Group with an estimate of maintenance support capability to meet operational requirements.
  • Translates yearly operation requirements into quarterly, monthly, and weekly aircraft utilization plans to successfully execute all unit and higher headquarters operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining Data Documentation to include Aircraft Maintenance Historical Documentation, Aircraft Jacket Files and Aircraft Document Reviews.
  • Coordinates the implementation of the Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) Program, to include the application of individual TCTOs.
