Aviation Maintenance Instructor

Location: Austin, TX (remote opportunity in Denton, TX)

Salary: $73,296.34 - $103,388.12 annually. Additional allowance of $12,500 for candidates residing more than 60 miles from Denton, TX. IA Stipend $2,080.

Overview

We’re hiring an Aviation Maintenance Instructor to ensure that every maintenance activity performed embodies GMR’s vision and mission statements. This role assists in guiding aviation mechanic teams towards maintenance excellence and uncompromised safety.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain maintenance training records.
  • Maintain compliance according to confidentiality, HIPAA, FAA/PRIA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver New Hire, Aircraft Model Specific, Maintenance tracking software, Aircraft differences and Base Familiarization training to the maintenance department.
  • Assist maintenance employees with general maintenance training questions and needs.
  • Assist the Manager, Maintenance Training with technicians training programs.
  • Coordinate factory, recurrent, and continuing education training.
  • Develop Maintenance Learning Management System training classes.
  • Develop and implement ideas for recurrent training with the Manager, Maintenance Training.
  • Travel across the U.S. (up to 25% for local candidates, up to 50% or greater for non-local).
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • At least 2 years of recent (within the last 6 months) experience maintaining and/or providing formal Method of Instruction on any of the listed aircraft models: Pilatus PC-12, King Air C90/B200/B300 series.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Factory or FAA accepted training on the respective model type aircraft.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems on the respective model type aircraft.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations for maintenance.
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance systems, records, support, and planning.
  • Acceptable FAA drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Able to push and/or pull 100+ lbs.
  • Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory, project manager, or inspector capacity.
  • Highly knowledgeable of aircraft EMS systems from a maintenance perspective.
  • Experience working under CFR Part 135 Air EMS environment and base duties, including vibration analysis / propeller balancing.
  • Experience with RAMCO.
