Job summary

Unifi Aviation, LLC in Santa Ana, CA seeks an Aircraft Load Agent to route, load, and unload air freight to correct destinations, while maintaining safety procedures and station policies. You will interact with customers to receive shipments, collect fees, and prepare bills of lading and freight bills.

Responsibilities include notifying customers of delays, performing Ramp Agent duties when needed, and handling related tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in extreme conditions including heat and cold.
• Eligible to obtain appropriate security clearances after a background check.
• Familiar with basic computer programs to assist with record-keeping and baggage routing.
• Must hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Must be able to obtain USPS approval to handle mail.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Route, load, and unload inbound and outbound air freight shipments to the proper destinations.
• Interact with customers to receive shipments, collect fees, and process payments and related transactions.
• Prepare and examine bill of lading and weigh items to determine shipping charges and freight bills.
• Notify customers of delays in departure or arrival of shipments.
• Maintain safety and security of cargo facility and follow safety procedures.
• May perform Ramp Agent duties as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience for this role.

Responsibilities for Aircraft Load Agent

• Responsible for the routing, loading, and unloading of inbound and outbound air freight shipments to and from the proper destinations.
• Interact with customers to receive and provide cargo shipments, collect fees, and process payments and other transactions related to those shipments in a courteous, accurate and timely manner.
• Prepares and examines bill of lading and weigh items to determine shipping charges and prepare freight bills.
• Notifies customers of any delays in departure or arrival of shipments.
• Always maintains safety and security of the cargo facility and complies with safety procedures and station policies.
• May also perform Ramp Agent duties as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

Qualifications for Aircraft Load Agent

• Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces
• Eligible to receive appropriate security clearances after satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
• Familiarity with basic computer programs to assist with record-keeping and baggage routing
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain USPS Approval to handle mail.
• Flexible schedule allowing work during nights, weekends, and holidays. Some shifts may require extended hours to meet business needs.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and move items up to 70 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Must be able to observe, judge distances, identify surroundings, hazards, aircrafts, and equipment.
• Must be able to communicate by radio and other devices.
