Job summary

Avflight Minot in Minot, ND is hiring a full-time Aircraft Fueler/Ground Support Staff. You will perform fueling and de-icing, direct ramp traffic, operate fuel trucks, and support aircraft crews with safety and efficiency.

Requires high school diploma or GED, 2 years aviation experience preferred, ability to lift 70 lbs, pass background/drug test, and a valid driver's license. You must be prepared for varied shifts, outdoor work in all weather, and strict FAA and Avflight safety compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs fueling and de-icing of aircraft.
• Directs movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ramp; secures aircraft, cleans windshields, removes trash, services lavatories, checks tire pressures.
• Drives and services fuel trucks and ground support vehicles; fuels, oils, and supplies as required; maintains equipment.
• Uses safety equipment and provides de-icing service when needed.
• Performs grounds keeping and janitorial duties; drives snow plow and assists with snow removal.
• Maintains cleanliness of the areas in and about the facilities.
• Assists aircraft crews and passengers by courteously providing services.
• Assists with daily fuel farm inspections including preloading and quality control inspections.
• Performs daily and monthly fuel truck safety inspections; ensures vehicles are in safe operating order.
• Maintains compliance with FAA, Federal, State, Local and Avflight safety policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Duties

• Performs fueling and de-icing of all types of aircraft in accordance to specific standards
• Directs the movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ramp and in and about the shops and hangars of the Company's facilities; properly secures all parked aircraft at all times, clean windshields, remove trash, perform lavatory service and check tire pressures as requested
• Drives and services fuel trucks and ground support vehicles, and services aircraft and ground support vehicles with fuel, oil, and all other supplies and materials which may be required by the aircraft or vehicle; responsible for operating and filling of fuel trucks; cleaning, servicing, operating, and performing minor maintenance to this equipment
• Use safety related equipment and provide de-icing service to aircraft when needed
• Performs grounds keeping and janitorial maintenance duties, drives snow plow and assist with snow removal as required
• Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the areas in and about the Company's vicinity
• Assists all aircraft crews and passengers by courteously providing services they may require

Physical Demands

Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75-80 lbs.).Climbing and standing on step ladders while connecting fueling hoses overhead. Bending and stooping to manipulate hoses and connect aircraft tow bars. Must be able to carry 70 pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70 pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment

Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered.
