Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Portland, OR is seeking a Fueler to ensure safe, efficient fueling, defueling, and aircraft servicing at PDX. You will read and interpret weight and balance data, operate fueling equipment, and maintain accurate fuel transaction records.

Ideal candidates are comfortable outdoors in all weather, able to lift up to 70lbs, and willing to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays. A Commercial Driver’s License or Oil & Gas experience is preferred.

  • Defuel aircraft as directed.

The aircraft Fueler responsibility is to the safe and efficient fueling/defueling and servicing of aircrafts at the airport. You will need to perform simple mathematical functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with regards to weight, measurement and volume to interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions as they pertain to fueling.

This role requires you to maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.

What you will be doing

  • Perform fueling in a safe and efficient manner, drive and operate fuel trucks, hydrant cards, and stationary carts to fuel aircraft.
  • Responsible for accurate accounting of fuel transactions
  • Perform daily Quality Control checks on equipment, maintain equipment in clean and functional condition.
  • Ensure the correct loading and balancing of fuel.
  • Responsible for defueling aircraft as directed.

  • Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Prior experience preferred including possession of a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the Oil and Gas Industry (preferred)
