Job summary

StandardAero in Dallas is seeking an Engine Mechanic (CFM56) to maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft engines, modules, components and accessories, ensuring compliance with company standards and airworthiness requirements. You will troubleshoot mechanically, interpret blueprints, and support production with cross-training as needed.

The role requires reading schematics, reading technical docs, and using precision measuring tools, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret schematics, graphs, blueprints, and other technical information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform disassembly and assembly of complete engines, modules, components and assemblies in accordance with all customer, regulatory, and company requirements using hand or power tools.
  • Troubleshoot to identify problems, performs, adjusts and repairs products according to specifications and established procedures.
  • Interpret technical specifications, directives and relevant publications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies.
  • Interpret technical standards, drawings, specifications, and other relevant documentation using mechanical precision measuring tools and instruments as required; verifies the conformance of parts to manuals and blueprints with respect to measurements.
  • Use machines, tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, plant equipment and consumables necessary to carry out the required tasks.
  • Check for serviceability, conformity documentation completeness and compatibility to applicable standards.
  • Replace defective parts and assembles units ensuring conformance with applicable regulations and manufacturer\'s specifications.
  • Maintain detailed repair and certification records and reports of work performed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Cross train as needed to support production requirements.
  • Move between production assignments that utilize multiple skills as needed to support production requirements.
  • Participate in cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

As an Engine Mechanic (CFM56), you ll maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft engines, modules, components and accessories to assure compliance with established company standards, contractual obligations and airworthiness regulatory requirements. Performs technical troubleshooting using mechanical ability and extensive product knowledge. Cross trains in other complementary skills as needed to support production requirements.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret schematics, graphs, blueprints, and other technical information.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
  • Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods.
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.
  • Ability to follow and understand related company instructions, company processes, overhaul manuals, and original equipment manufacturer\'s manuals.
  • Specialized training in engineering or aircraft maintenance (AME, A&P, AMT); or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience as an aircraft mechanic in an aerospace environment preferred.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd or weekend shift as required.
  • Major Module removal and installation (Engine to Modules)
  • Module Disassembly and Assembly (Modules to Submodules)
  • Submodule Disassembly and Assembly (Submodules to Piece Parts)
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

Preferred Characteristics:

  • CFM56 engine or equivalent engine MRO experience preferred.
