Job summary

A prominent aviation service provider in Ypsilanti, MI is in search of an Aircraft Engine Mechanic. This role involves disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling aircraft engines, particularly CF34 and TFE-731 engines. Candidates must have an Airframe & Powerplant License and preferably have experience with aircraft engines. This position demands physical strength, good communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under stress. Full-time availability is required with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, and assemble engines according to manuals.
  • Perform engine removals and installations on-wing.
  • Proficient in reading OEM Manuals and using precision measuring tools.
  • Conduct repair processes on engine components.

Kalitta Turbines is a certified FAA Repair Station and has been in the business of maintaining, servicing, and repairing TFE731 and CF34-3 engines since 1986. Functions/Responsibilities:

Must be able to multi-task, respect / maintain confidentiality, be service oriented, be trustworthy / ethical, and be sensitive/respectful of diverse populations/cultures. Must work at a fast pace and handle stress and problematic issues well with a good attitude.

  • Disassemble, inspect, assemble engines I.A.W. Manufacturers Manuals.
  • Perform engine removals and installations on-wing.
  • Be proficient in reading OEM Manuals and precision measuring tools.
  • Perform repair processes to engine components.

Requirements
Qualifications / Skills:
  • Aircraft Engine experience preferred.
  • Experience with CF34 and TFE-731 Engines preferred
  • Airframe & Powerplant License Required
Education:
  • High School Graduate or GED
Work Environment & Culture Skills:
  • Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check
  • Understand, read and write English
  • Reliable, punctual, flexible, motivated, resourceful, energetic, organized and able to manage and be managed
  • Ability to multi-task, respect, and maintain confidentiality
