Job summary

IDS Inland Deicing Services, LLC at Des Moines International Airport is seeking an Aircraft Deicer for multiple shifts at $20.00/hour. This part-time seasonal role involves assessing aircraft for ice, spraying deicing fluid, and ensuring safe operations.

Responsibilities include safe de/anti-icing procedures, equipment checks, and proper shutdown and documentation. Candidates must be 18+, have a HS diploma or equivalent, and be fluent in English.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Maintain and treat all information as confidential.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
• Must be able to verbally direct in English.
• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives.
• Successful completion of IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training.
• Must be able to speak and hear efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Uphold duties related to de/anti-icing according to procedures for airlines and IDS including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination.
• Participate in pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (check equipment, trucks, and servicing gear with fuel or glycol).
• Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; report maintenance issues and follow proper shutdown procedures.
