IDS Inland Deicing Services, LLC is hiring an Aircraft Deicer (Part-time / Seasonal) at DEN – 18300 E. 71st Ave, Denver, CO. Responsibilities include removing ice from aircraft, inspecting for frozen contamination, and applying glycol deicing fluid.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
• English reading, writing and speaking abilities required.
• Must possess tact to interact with all levels.
• Successful completion of IDS de-/anti-icing training.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Airport badge or background check for this location.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and follow policies.
• Inspect aircraft for frozen contamination and inspect de/anti-ice work.
• Participate in pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event; check equipment.
• Ensure proper shutdown of pads and complete paperwork/logs.

Position Overview:

The primary role of the aircraft deicer is to remove ice from the aircraft. The individual in this position inspects the aircraft for ice and for remaining frozen contamination after the deicing has been performed. He or she sprays the airplane down with the deicing fluid, which is usually made of glycol.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

• Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and make sure all company policies and procedures are being followed correctly
• Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and IDS including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination
• Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing equipment with fuel or glycol)
• Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followed

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Intermediate computer skills
• Maintain and treat all information as confidential
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
• Must be able to verbally direct in English
• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives
• Successful completion of all IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training
• Must be able to speak and hear efficiently
• A valid driver's license is required for this position
• Successful completion of the airport badging or background check process required for this location.

• Prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.
• Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl, climb ladders and work at heights in excess of 15 ft to perform role, repairs, or inspections
• Must be able to speak, hear efficiently to supplement other senses in maximizing situational awareness in safety sensitive environments
• Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
• May be exposed to hazards inherent in airport operations, including noise, vehicles, equipment, and weather, all of which are well-managed with a high level of training, personal protective equipment, and safety procedures
