Job summary

CIMA Aviation is seeking a skilled technician to join our Florida team. The role focuses on testing, troubleshooting, disassembly, and assembly of aircraft components in accordance with OEM specifications. Candidates should be hands-on, able to use various tools, and capable of following detailed procedures.

On-the-job training is provided by management. This safety-sensitive position requires a commitment to quality, and employment is subject to FAA DOT Drug Abatement program compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or higher in a related technical field preferred.
  • A&P license/certificate not required, but a plus.
  • Own a set of basic hand tools.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Responsibilities

  • Test, troubleshoot, tear down, and repair aircraft components per manuals, drawings, procedures, and training.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area.
  • Accurately complete company forms and reports, written and online.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to achieve management-set goals.
  • Assist management in developing new processes and procedures as needed.
  • Support basic shop upkeep and periodic maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external representatives, including FAA inspectors.
  • Demonstrate commitment to company values and ethics.

Description

CIMA Aviation is seeking skilled and motivated technician with a hunger for knowledge and a passion for aviation repair to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for working with their hands, utilizing various tools, materials, and specialized testing equipment to test and repair aircraft components in accordance with OEM and/or customer specifications.

The technician's responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, disassembling, and assembling aircraft components. This position requires knowledge of our procedures as they pertain to processes and documentation. On-the-job training and oversight are provided by CIMA management.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Test, troubleshoot, tear down, and repair aircraft components in accordance with company-provided data (manuals, drawings, procedures, etc.) and company-provided training.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area.
  • Correctly, concisely, and legibly complete all company forms and reports as required by management, both written and online.
  • Work with co-workers to achieve goals and objectives set by management.
  • Work with management to develop new processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Assist with basic shop upkeep and maintenance, including routine cleaning of the work area and periodic shop maintenance assignments.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external representatives, including management, customer representatives, FAA inspectors, airline inspectors, and similar (training provided).
  • Demonstrate commitment to company values and ethics.
Requirements
Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of similar or related work experience; relevant experience in aviation, automotive, marine, electronics, or low-voltage electric repair will be considered.
  • Must own a set of basic hand tools.
  • Moderate level of experience and proficiency with general electrical and/or circuit board-level soldering.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to a written procedure concisely and accurately.
  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Ability to read and thoroughly understand technical drawings, blueprints, manuals, and instructions; a pre-employment technical skills and comprehension test may be required.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized.
  • Basic computer experience.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Electrical or mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience; machinist experience a plus.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher in a related technical field preferred.
  • A&P license/certificate not required, but a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Constant hand manipulation of small to medium components
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Frequent use of hand tools and other repair equipment
  • Use of chemicals for cleaning, lubricating, and painting

Additional Information
