About The Role

Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation's skies safe and connected. We're looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world's most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.

At Peraton, you won't just support the mission - you'll define it.

Do you want to play a critical role in shaping the future of America's skies? As the Air Traffic Training SME you'll design, deliver, and oversee innovative training programs that keep our National Airspace System (NAS) safe, efficient, and ready for the challenges of tomorrow. This is more than just a training role-it's a leadership opportunity to influence how the next generation of air traffic professionals are prepared. You'll bring together your expertise in instructional design, FAA air traffic control procedures, and large-scale training program management to ensure personnel perform at their highest level. This role is ideal for a training professional ready to step into leadership, expand their influence, and contribute to one of the most mission-critical systems in the country.

In this position, you will
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive air traffic and technical training programs supporting NAS modernization.
  • Translate complex FAA operational procedures, system requirements, and technical information into clear, engaging training.
  • Develop or maintain instructor-led training, virtual learning, simulations, exercises, job aids, and performance-based assessments.
  • Deliver classroom, virtual, and hands‑on instruction to operational and technical personnel.
  • Partner with FAA SMEs, engineers, system integrators, instructors, and program teams to ensure training accurately reflects system functionality and operational procedures.
  • Maintain training materials, curricula, schedules, qualification records, and other required training documentation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding FAA air traffic operations, procedures, and NAS environments.
  • Identify training risks, gaps, and readiness concerns and work with program leadership to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate training records and drive continuous program improvements.
Why This Role Matters

Every flight depends on well‑prepared air traffic professionals. By leading training programs at this scale, you'll directly impact national aviation safety and efficiency while shaping the careers of those who manage our skies. As an Air Traffic Training SME, you'll help bridge the gap between new technology and operational readiness, ensuring personnel have the knowledge and practical skills needed to support the continued safety, efficiency, and reliability of America's airspace.
