Job summary

Federal Aviation Administration seeks a Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist (Assistant General Manager) to lead and direct air traffic operations within a District, reporting to the General Manager and guiding multiple facilities of varying size and complexity.

The AGM oversees planning, coordination and execution of programs to advance NAS safety and efficiency, applying management principles and strategic planning in a highly technical matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• The AGM is responsible for managing and coordinating all air traffic operations and/or support activities within the assigned District.
• Manages and directs a highly technical workforce consisting of numerous air traffic facilities of varying size, type, and complexity.
• Provides input and guidance on policies, standards, and procedures regarding district activities to ensure safe, secure and efficient navigable airspace.
• Coordinates district management investigations and labor-management relations as needed.
