Job summary

SEGULA Technologies in Wichita, KS, seeks a Systems Engineer with pneumatics focus to define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specifications, perform functional modeling and trade studies, and ensure compliant verification.

You will manage interfaces with internal groups and suppliers, review vendor drawings and test procedures, support ground and flight testing, and help keep program milestones on track. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
  • 5–8 years of aerospace engineering experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamics.
  • Familiar with DO-160, Mil-Std 810 qualification processes.
  • Experience with system integration and interface management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a systems engineer and carry out pneumatics discipline activities.
  • Define pneumatic system architecture and prepare specifications.
  • Conduct functional modeling and trade studies.
  • Manage engineering requirements, validation and verification.
  • Review and approve design documents (vendor drawings, test procedures, qualification reports).
  • Document test results for ground and flight test programs.
  • Support build, operation of test platforms and flight test vehicles.
  • Ensure program schedule adherence and milestone tracking.
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams for issue resolution.
  • Travel for short-term assignments as needed.

Job description

  • Act as a systems engineer and carry out pneumatics discipline activities
  • Assure integration and interface management of assigned systems and coordinate with internal groups & suppliers.
  • Define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specifications and requirements, conduct functional modeling and trade studies.
  • Ensure engineering requirements management, validation and verification
  • Manage suppliers from an engineering project and engineering technical perspective
  • Review and approve engineering design documents such as vendor drawings, test procedures, acceptance test procedures, qualification reports and certification documents
  • Document technical engineering analysis, ground, and flight test results
  • Prepare engineering technical reports to show compliance with the applicable certification requirements
  • Support the build and operation of test platforms (rigs, flight test vehicles)
  • Work within multi-disciplinary team to address product engineering definition or issue resolution
  • Prepare design change modifications and optimized solutions.
  • Support production and in-service teams in troubleshooting engineering systems related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to program schedule and milestones.
  • Contribute to Knowledge Domain and Bombardier Engineering System (BES).
  • You have a bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
  • You have ideally 5-8 years of relevant technical experience in an aerospace engineering field
  • You have excellent knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamic concepts.
  • You quickly understand complex issues and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You possess basic knowledge in the pneumatics field and interfacing technical disciplines such as system installation, avionics, power plant and others.
  • You are familiar with component qualification (DO-160, Mil-Std 810)
  • You are familiar with Design Process Assurance (ARP4754 A)
  • You have knowledge in functional modelling and system performance testing
  • You are comfortable with the technical aspects of engineering as well as project management
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office tools
  • You have knowledge of system design tools such as Model Based Engineering or simulation software
  • You are a recognized team player; work well in a team environment and create a collaborative relationship with other team members
  • You are self-motivated, dynamic and a good communicator
  • You possess good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills
  • You are willing to travel for short-term assignments
  • Bilingualism (French and English) would be required.
