Job Title: Air Export Supervisor

Job Location: Chicago, Illinois

DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air, ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers. We are part of Deutsche Post DHL, the world's leading logistics provider with operations in over 220 countries.

Overview

This role drives the end-to-end performance and profitability of the local Air Freight Export product team, which includes Operations and Customer Service. The supervisor ensures quality, regulatory compliance, and KPI achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages, oversees, and performs supervisory tasks to control Air Freight Export processes.
• Serves as the escalation contact for customer Air Freight Export shipments; handles financial aspects, sets, communicates, and drives KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assumes responsibility for safety, security, and good working practices for customer shipments and staff.
• Collaborates with internal customers (Gateway, Trucking, Handling, etc.) for seamless service, engages with sales to grow business.
• Reviews and manages month-end reports, P & L, A/P and A/R; escalates carrier performance issues with the US Air Freight Product team.
• Supervises unionized staff; responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing staff.
• Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance per organizational policies and performance management processes.

Skills / Requirements

• BA/BS preferred or minimum 2 years supervisory experience in logistics/transportation.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentations).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Air Freight Export processes.
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, including driving KPIs, employee engagement, team building, coaching, training, and mentoring.
• Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Cargo Wise system preferred.

Pay Range: $79,777.50 - $106,370.00+ (Based on Experience)
