Skyworks Solutions is seeking an AI/ML Co-Op to join our enterprise AI/ML engineering team in Irvine, California. This full-time internship runs June/July to December 2027, and is designed for currently enrolled undergrad or graduate students to work end-to-end on AI/ML projects.

You will gather data, prototype solutions, and deploy models while learning modern AI/ML tooling in a production setting. Relocation to Irvine is required for the duration of the coop.

• Current junior/senior undergrad or grad student in CS, data science, EE, ME, or IE.

• Experience with Python and AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch) and AI algorithms.
• Proficient with VSCode or IDEs; quick to learn code assists.
• Able to learn company-specific software (Agentic AI, LangChain, LangGraph, Genie, Databricks, PowerBI).
• Python experience 2+ years; self-starter with ownership; hands-on collaborator.
• Must be enrolled in school for duration of coop; not eligible if graduated.

Skyworks Solutions is seeking an AI/ML Co-Op to join our enterprise AI/ML engineering team. This is a hands-on, full-time co-op role in which you will help design, build, and deploy machine learning solutions that support engineering and business teams across the company. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will take ownership of small projects end to end - from data gathering and analysis through prototyping, implementation, and documentation - while building practical experience with modern AI/ML tooling in a production environment. The position is intended for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students looking to apply their coursework to real-world engineering problems.

This internship period is from June/July to December 2027.

Responsibilities

As an AI/ML Coop, you will support engineering efforts for AI and machine learning initiatives spanning multiple business units. You'll lead small projects under the supervision of the enterprise AI/ML engineering team, collaborating with stakeholders from various departments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Gathering and analyzing engineering and business data to identify opportunities for AI/ML solutions.
• Developing code for core usecase functionality with guidance and gradually work independently
• Designing and implementing new procedures and workflows for AI/ML projects.
• Identifying bottlenecks and working with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy solutions.
• Assisting with documentation, reporting, and other project deliverables.

This opportunity will allow you to sharpen your AI/ML skill sets, technical, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic business environment.

Required Experience and Skills

• Current Junior/Senior undergraduate or graduate student studying Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
• Must be able to temporarily relocate to work full-time hours from June or July to December 2027 in Irvine, California.
• Experience using programming languages (Python), and AI/ML frameworks like Pytorch and understanding of AI algorithms.
• Proficiency using VScode or other programming IDEs, ramp up learning curve on using code assists to complete tasks.
• Be able to quickly learn company-specific software (Agentic AI, LangChain, LangGraph, Genie, Databricks, PowerBI).

Desired Experience and Skills

• Programming in Python 2 + years, understanding of AI/ML algorithms, be able to solve problems quickly
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic, eager to tackle challenges and take ownership.
• Willingness to work in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
• Strong time management, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Please note: If you have already graduated and are not currently enrolled in school, you are not eligible for this Coop position.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
