Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis Holy Family Parish is seeking a Preschool Aide to provide a safe, nurturing, faith-filled environment for preschoolers. The role supports supervision, care, and enrichment in line with Catholic values.

You will work during extended care hours, engage children in age-appropriate activities, maintain a clean, safe space, and collaborate with teachers and families. A high school diploma and prior childcare experience are preferred, with CPR/First Aid certification

• High school diploma or equivalent; preschool coursework preferred.
• Experience with young children in childcare or school setting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Commitment to Catholic Church mission and teachings.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage preschool students during extended care hours.
• Support a Christ-centered atmosphere through actions and words.
• Assist in planning age-appropriate activities with play, crafts, snacks, rest time.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment per guidelines.
• Monitor development and communicate with parents and staff.
• Follow school policies and health protocols; assist teachers as needed.
• Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.

Job Summary

The Preschool Aide supports the mission of Holy Family Parish by providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for preschool-aged children. This individual assists with the supervision, care, and enrichment of students in alignment with Catholic values and early childhood best practices.

Job Responsibilities

Supervise and engage preschool students during extended care hours (before/after school).

Support a Christ-centered atmosphere through words, actions, and modeling of Catholic values.

Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, including play, crafts, snacks, and rest time.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in accordance with school and state guidelines.

Monitor and support students’ emotional, social, and physical development.

Communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents, and staff.

Follow all school policies, procedures, and health/safety protocols.

Support classroom teachers and staff as needed.

Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or school setting.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries.

Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.

CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Must pass background check and meet diocesan safe environment requirements.
