Job summary

Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, seeks a Housekeeper/Personal Care Aide to support senior residents with personal care and a clean, safe living environment. In this role you will deliver daily care tasks, maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility, and promote resident dignity and comfort in a mission-driven setting.

Experience in long-term care preferred; the role requires teamwork, reliability, and compassionate

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write and converse in English.
• Able to read and understand cleaning labels.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Have long term care or related experience.
• Two-years of experience in housekeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sanitary condition and cleanliness of common areas and bathrooms per procedures.
• Secure storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Prepare cart for housekeeping at start/end of shift.
• Inform supervisor of any sanitation issues affecting resident health.
• Follow daily duties list with supervisors.
• Maintain MSDS records for chemicals used.
• Inventory cleaning supplies and report needs timely.
• Assist residents with daily living activities while promoting independence.
• Perform and document personal care per residents' plan of care.
• Report problems or incidents to supervisor immediately.
• Communicate with shift staff and next shift personnel.
• Assist with oversight and emergency response as needed.
• Attend annual in-services and required trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by business needs.

Job Summary

Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, is seeking a Housekeeper/Personal Care Aide to support senior residents by delivering high-quality personal care services while maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy living environment. This role combines hands-on assistance with daily personal care tasks and responsibility for upholding cleanliness standards throughout the facility. The Personal Care Aide is trained in proper care techniques and cleaning practices to ensure resident comfort, dignity, and well-being at all times. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting our residents in a mission-driven senior services environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for sanitary conditions and cleanliness of common areas and all tiled floors and bathrooms of the facility according to facility procedures.
• Maintain security over all cleaning supplies, including (but not limited to) such items as chemicals, tools or utensils.
• Prepare cart as necessary for housekeeping at start and end of shift.
• Alert supervisory staff to any sanitation conditions which may be a result in changes in a resident’s health status.
• Check with supervisors as necessary to obtain list of daily duties.
• Maintain MSDS for all chemicals used in the facility.
• Inventory all cleaning supplies and order or report to designated person when supplies are needed in a timely manner.
• Assist the residents with their daily living activities, while promoting the residents’ independence and dignity as an individual.
• Perform and document the personal care as outlined in the residents’ plan of care.
• Report any problems, concerns or incidents regarding a resident to the person in charge immediately.
• Communicate with shift co-workers and oncoming shift personnel.
• Assist with protective oversight and provide assistance in case of an emergency.
• Attend annual in-services and other training as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by needs of the business.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

• Be able to read, write and converse in English effectively.
• Able to read and understand cleaning labels.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Have long term care or related experience.
• Two-years of experience in housekeeping preferred.

Skills and Competencies Required

• Display proper hand hygiene
• Must have knowledge of infection control
• Must have knowledge of safety and fall prevention.
• Willingness to work as a member of a team and take direction from supervisors.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Will frequently interact with people of varying ages; must be able to answer requests by residents or family members in an appropriate manner.
• Be a leader in providing residential care.
