Job description

Aide – ELL

The hours for this position are approximately 29 per week.

Position Overview

The Aide – ELL provides support to the instructional program within assigned classrooms, with specific responsibility for assisting students in developing English language proficiency, administering instructional assessments, and reinforcing language-learning activities under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher to ensure students understand directions and expectations.
  • Administer tests, homework assignments, and make-up work to support classroom instruction.
  • Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts and language development.
  • Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Monitor student progress in oral and written English communication skills.
  • Support English language learners in developing communication skills necessary for academic success.
  • Maintain classroom records and documentation related to instructional support activities.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development activities related to ELL services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
