Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an Aide to support classroom activities, assist with instruction, and supervise students as needed. Responsibilities include aiding teachers in planning and delivering lessons, supporting students with various needs, and participating in extracurricular activities essential to the school program.

The role requires physical capability to lift, mobility, and the ability to follow directions and safety protocols. 200-day term; on-site at the school.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass the competency test for Aide, as required by WVDE.
• Demonstrates qualifications further detailed in job description.

Responsibilities

• Be physically able and willing to lift and assist students as needed.
• Provide bus supervision, as needed.
• Aid in classroom teaching including planning and general instruction. Extracurricular activities related to the school program.
• Assist with instruction of students as determined by their handicap, including care in feeding, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Assist teachers in implementing instructional programs; work with children in small groups or one-to-one.
• Provide general assistance to students in the classroom.
• Conduct activities for students with directions firmly established by the teacher.
• Prepare instructional materials as outlined by the teacher.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal, Director of Special Education and Special Services or Director of Safety and Transportation.

Aide - Can work in any classroom not requiring ECCAT certification, including special education, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

Job Summary

1. Be physically able and willing to lift and assist students as needed
2. Provide bus supervision, as needed
3. To aid in classroom teaching which includes planning, and general instruction. Also included are extra-curricular activities that are commensurate with the operation of a successful school program
4. Assist with instruction of students as determined by the nature of their handicap. This will include care in the areas of feeding, dressing, toileting (including diapering, catheterization, and toilet training), and physical mobility.
5. Assist teacher(s) in a variety of ways to implement the instructional program including working directly with children in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
6. Provide general assistance to students assigned to the classroom
7. Conducts activities for students with directions firmly established by the teacher
8. Prepares material for instruction as outlined by the teacher
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal, Director of Special Education and Special Services or Director of Safety and Transportation

Physical Requirements

1. Be able to impart information and orally communicate with students, families and others.
2. Be able to understand and respond to oral communications and directions.
3. Be able to read, write, understand and respond to written instructions, communications and materials.
4. When supervising a group of students, have the capacity to ensure the safety of, observe, supervise and assess all situations involving a student, a group of students and co-workers.
5. For Elementary, K and Pre-K - Have mobility, strength, and dexterity to be able to lift a student weighting up to 40 pounds; interact at each student's maturity level and size; and retrieve students who wander and/or run from the group.

Qualifications

3. Must pass the compentency test for Aide, as required by the WVDE. This test will be given by WCS.

Employment Term: 200 days
