Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking a temporary Yoruba AI Tutor to train Grok’s voice and language capabilities. You will annotate, label, and translate multilingual audio, focusing on natural Yoruba phrasing and cultural accuracy to improve our AI models.

This remote role supports US, UK, Canada, and Australia time zones. Proficiency in Yoruba at CEFR C1 and strong English (CEFR B2) are required, with visa sponsorship not available. The position is six months with possible extension based on needs.

Qualifications

• Yoruba at CEFR C1 level or higher and English at CEFR B2 level or higher.
• Native Yoruba is preferred; strong transcription/annotation skills.
• Experience translating or localizing UI or content between English and Yoruba.
• Experience with voice recording or audio production is a plus.
• Background in linguistics or speech sciences is beneficial.

Responsibilities

AI TUTOR, YORUBA - TEMPORARY

In this role, you will help train and refine Grok's voice and language capabilities in Yoruba. Your expertise will directly shape how Grok speaks and understands Yoruba, from pronunciation and natural phrasing to cultural nuance. You will see your work show up in a product used by people around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Annotate, label, and provide feedback on multilingual audio clips, voice recordings, and speech samples using proprietary tools
• Translate and localize text (UI copy, prompts, responses, and other content) from English into Yoruba, with attention to accuracy, natural phrasing, and cultural fit
• Help produce clear, natural audio data that accurately captures linguistic and prosodic details such as intonation, rhythm, and accent
• Collaborate with technical staff to refine annotation guidelines and tools for handling accents, background noise, speech variation, and multilingual audio

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a temporary position with SpaceXSI, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate

LENGTH OF POSITION:

6 months (extensions or conversion to a permanent role may be available based on business needs)

LOCATION:

Remote (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia); for US-based candidates, please note that we are unable to hire in Wyoming and Illinois at this time

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in Yoruba at CEFR C1 level or higher English proficiency at CEFR B2 level or higher

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Native proficiency in Yoruba
• English proficiency at CEFR C1 level or higher
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Advanced transcription or audio annotation, with strong attention to accents, prosody, disfluencies, and variable recording quality
• Translation or localization work (especially UI, product copy, or conversational text) between English and Yoruba
• Voice recording, voice acting, podcasting, or related audio production that demonstrates clear delivery and attention to sound quality
• Background in linguistics, phonetics, speech sciences, or hands‑on work with speech/audio datasets and AI training data

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role may be offered as a full‑time or part‑time position depending on role/business needs and candidate availability; full‑time positions are preferred and require working standard business hours in your local time zone We are unable to provide visa sponsorship Must be willing to travel to a SpaceXSI site

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• US-based candidates: $35/hour - $45/hour depending on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications.
• International candidates: Information will be provided to you during the recruitment process.
