Confidential in New York, NY seeks a hands-on builder who has shipped MCP servers and connected AI models to real-world tools, APIs, and services. You’ll turn ideas into practical tooling and backend integrations.

You should be comfortable with TypeScript/Node.js or Python, and experienced in building CLIs, SDKs, and API integrations. LLM APIs, tool calling, function calling, and agent workflows will be part of daily work.

Our client is looking for someone who has already built an MCP server and understands how to connect AI models with real-world tools, services, and APIs. You'll work on practical AI tooling, backend integrations, and developer tools, turning ideas into working solutions.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain MCP servers that connect AI applications with external tools, APIs, and services.

What We're Looking For

• You've built an MCP server yourself. This is essential. A GitHub repository or working demo is required as part of your application.
• Solid backend development skills in TypeScript/Node.js or Python.
• Hands-on experience building CLIs, SDKs, or API integrations.
• Practical experience using LLM APIs, tool/function calling, or agent workflows.
• A builder's mindset: you take initiative, solve problems, and ship without needing constant direction.

Bonus Points

• Open-source contributions or a strong GitHub portfolio.
• MCP servers you've built for real-world tools, APIs, or services.
• Projects developed through hackathons, personal experimentation, or AI builder communities.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude or Cursor.
• Strong debugging skills and an ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Experience & Education

here's no minimum years-of-experience requirement. Students, fresh graduates, self-taught developers, and engineers with up to approximately three years of experience are encouraged to apply.
